I can’t believe it’s that time of year again! When we get the chance to reflect on the past and plan for the New Year ahead! It’s time to say “Goodbye” to 2017 and “Hello” to 2018! Here are my Top 10 New Years Resolution Ideas to help you make this year, the best year yet!
1. Switch to a Vegetarian or Vegan diet
Let’s face it! Ditching meat and switching to a plant-based diet is the way of the future! Eating fruits and vegetables is not only delicious, but it’s good for your health and the environment too. If you haven’t already, check out Forks Over Knives, Cowspiracy, or What the Health.
2. Try Meatless Mondays
If doing the vegetarian diet is just too overwhelming for you at this time, then try Meatless Monday! It’s an easy way to get creative in the kitchen by trying new vegetarian and/or vegan dishes.
3. Eat Breakfast, Everyday
As we’ve all heard, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and if you’re like me, you tend to skip this meal on a regular basis. Make a vow this year, to eat breakfast everyday.
4. Start a Budget
I’m sure we could all try a little harder to put some money aside for savings. This year, try creating a budget and sticking to it – see how much money you can save by the end of 2018.
5. Drink More Water
This is a great resolution for anyone! Purchase a water bottle and mark it with checkpoints – this is a fun way to make sure you’re hitting your water intake goals for the day.
6. Purchase Cruelty-Free Products Only
Everyone knows I’m a cruelty-free product supporter – this year, start purchasing products that are cruelty-free (the animals will thank you!)
7. Go to Bed Early
A resolution that might be easier said than done – make it a goal to go to bed 1 hour earlier than usual. You will be surprised how energized you will feel in the morning.
8. Stretch Everyday
Stretching is a great way to wake up your body and mind. Take 5 minutes in the morning to stretch before starting the day.
9. Grow Your Own Herbs
I just got a herb garden for Christmas (you may have seen it on my Instagram story last week). Try growing your own herbs this year! It is so nice to have fresh herbs right at your fingertips when your cooking.
10. Eat at Home
This kind of ties into the saving money & budgeting resolution. Fast food has become so expensive, with a meal costing $8 to $10. If you’re buying lunch and dinner all the time, you will be shocked to see how much money you’re eating on a monthly basis. Make a resolution to start cooking more and eating out less.
