Product Review – Milani Foundation & Concealer
Ok, I have been waiting to purchase this product for a while now. I ran out of my favourite BB cream a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be the perfect time to buy and test out the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer.
For those of you who don’t know, Milani Cosmetics is a cruelty-free makeup brand that can typically be found in your local drugstore.
Combat under eye circles, redness and other skin imperfections with this full coverage, water-resistant foundation plus concealer in one. A no mess, no drip pump dispenses just the right amount of fluid needed to achieve a flawless look and works around the clock to keep skin looking naturally perfect!
Let’s dive right into the review, this Milani foundation has a thick consistency which provides medium to full coverage. The product is easy to apply, blend and build upon which allows you to effortlessly obtain your desired look. This foundation looks so beautiful on the skin and doesn’t look ‘cakey’ when you first apply it, which is a plus in my books.
I did notice that the product didn’t cover up the redness (from my rosacea) all day. After about 4-6 hours I had to reapply in order to even out my complexion again. Perhaps the primer and setting spray that I use doesn’t mesh well with this formula? Or, maybe my skin type doesn’t like this formula. I am not 100% sure why this doesn’t remain flawless on my face for the entire day, but I can tell that this product has so much potential. I will keep using this foundation but I am going to try different primers to see if that makes a difference in the wear time. If you have tried this product before, did you have a similar issue? Do you have any tips on how to increase the wear time on this foundation?
The Milani Conceal + Perfect comes in 15 different shades, which is pretty amazing! I love the shade range as it allows me to purchase the correct shade based on the time of year and how pale or tanned I am. According to their website, they released a new shade 00 Light Natural. Considering I have a tan right now (it’s finally summer here in Toronto!) I decided to purchase shade 05 Warm Beige.
I purchased this Milani foundation from Rexall at $12.99 CAD for 1 fluid ounce of product. Apparently, on the Milani website, this product costs $10 (but I don’t know that currency – I would assume it’s in USD). Either way, I think this is a great price for the quality.
I love Milani products because the attention to detail and quality make this drugstore brand feel like a boutique high-end quality cosmetic line. The product comes in a thick glass package with a pump to dispense the product. I personally love pumps for my foundations!
