Product Review – Maui Moisture – Heal & Hydrate Shea Butter Shampoo & Conditioner
A couple of months ago (March 31, 2017 – to be exact), I tweeted a photo of a new product that I had just purchased, Maui Moisture! A shampoo and conditioner brand that I had never seen on the drugstore shelves before!
I had to purchase the product and give it a try!
- Coconut Oil + Curl Quench – for thick, curly hair
- Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter – for dry, damaged hair
- Strength & Anti-Breakage + Rich Agave – for chemically damaged hair
- Smooth & Repair +Vanilla Bean – for frizzy, unruly hair
- Thicken & Retore + Bamboo Fibres – for weak, brittle hair
- Nourish & Moisture + Coconut Milk – for dry hair
Maui Moisutre was inspired by handpicked & handcrafted ingredients that can be found on tropical islands like Maui. Most shampoos and conditions start with deionized, chemically treated water as their primary ingredient. Maui Moisture starts with a unique blend of aloe vera juice and infused with piure coconut water.
I purchased Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter for dry, damaged hair. This product comes in a beautiful purple bottle with gold accents. The package is actually a hard plastic, although it has the expensive glass bottle look.
According to the Mauri Moisture website, this product will:
Deeply quench, nourish, and soften dry, damaged strands to get your hair back to looking healthy with these blends with creamy shea butter, rich coconut milk, and pure macadamia oil.
This product smells AMAZING! The formula is rich and creamy, with the most wonderful beachy scent. The product lathers nicely and leaves a clean sheen to the hair. The conditioner makes your hair feel amazing when wet in the shower, however, once my hair started to dry the conditioner just didn’t leave my hair as silky and tangle free as I typically like. After showering, I felt like my hair still needed a leave in conditioner to be applied in order to easily brush through my hair. I know this brand has a couple of other products (not just a shampoo and conditioner) so maybe if I used those additional products in combination with the shampoo and conditioner, I wouldn’t have experienced the tangle problem.
The beautiful thing about this product is that it’s cruelty-free! According to the website, Maui Moisture does NOT test on animals. They don’t test on animals directly or indirectly and Maui Moisture is against the suffering of animals caused by product testing. For this reason, I will continue to purchase and support products from this brand!
I managed to find this product on sale at Rexall for around $12.00CAD each. I don’t think this is totally unreasonable as the product is vegan, cruelty-free and you get 385ML of a quality product. This brand is not only cruelty-free and vegan, but it’s also Eco-friendly which is wonderful! If I can cause the least amount of harm to animals and the environment while still getting a fabulous product, then I’m a happy camper!
Once I have finished this bottle, I plan on purchasing Strength & Anti-Breakage + Rich Agave as well as Nourish & Moisture + Coconut Milk. I will give you guys an update on these products later!
Package Quality: 5/5
