Easy Vegan Cashew Cream Recipe

Cashew Cream is my absolute favourite type of vegan sauce… Similar to Franks, I put that sh*t on everything! No, really… I do! If you love cashew cream as much as I do, then you have to try this recipe, it’s really easy to make and all you need is a blender!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1 tablespoon of hemp hearts
  • ¼ cup of dairy-free milk (I like to use an almond coconut blend)
  • 1/2 tsp of salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1  tsp lemon juice



Begin by soaking some cashews overnight. I only have an immersion blender, so I need to soak them. If you have an expensive, high-speed blender (I want one so bad!) then you can probably skip this step.

Then, add all the ingredients together and blend it up to a bloody pulp.

Depending on what you’re planning on using the sauce for, you may want to alter the recipe slightly. For example, if you plan on using the cashew cream as a ‘sour cream’ replacement, then you may want to add less dairy-free milk, so it’s a thicker consistency. If you will be using the cashew cream as a salad dressing, you may want to add more liquid.  This recipe can be easily altered and it’s so versatile.

TIP – buy a squeeze bottle and add the cashew cream to the bottle for some awesome control and easy handling

Remember to keep the sauce refrigerated. I typically keep the sauce for 5 days (if it lasts that long, without getting devoured!)
